The Sounds of Afrolitical Movement
It's the last week of production for The Sounds of Afrolitical Movement at the Portland Playhouse. ZEN:MNM's Marcus Lattimore makes his debut in theatre as Ogun, the deity of war and iron in Yoruba and other West African religions.
Save a seat at the Portland Playhouse this Wednesday through Sunday to catch Marcus and a multitude of other talented artists as they guide you through each movement, ending Sunday with a Congo Circle marketplace in the courtyard.
More about the show:
The Sounds of Afrolitical Movement is NOT a play, it is a transformative interactive experience where the audience is invited to participate in movements like song, dance, stillness and protest
Each day begins with three movements, followed by an additional movement that varies based on the day. See the Portland Playhouse website for the different themes
This week's BIPOC shows are Thursday and Saturday. Black, Indigenous and People of Color are invited to join a space that centers them on a pay-what-you-wish basis, starting at $5 per ticket
We hope to see you there this week!
